The Rise of Woke Culture: A Spiritual Invasion Masquerading as Progress

In the past few years, we’ve watched as something more than just cultural change has swept across the globe. What we are witnessing is not just social evolution or diversity — it is a systemic spiritual deception being injected into every layer of public life under the label of “inclusion,” “progress,” and “justice.” But make no mistake: woke culture is not neutral. It is an anti-biblical ideology rooted in rebellion against God.

It’s Everywhere: From Government to Workplaces

From Australia to Germany, from the U.S. to Canada, and now increasingly in Latin America, we are seeing:

  • Progress Pride flags flying outside embassies, churches, and schools.

  • Mandatory gender ideology in corporate training sessions.

  • Pride Month celebrated globally, with government institutions and companies actively promoting gender fluidity, same-sex marriage, and lifestyles that Scripture clearly calls sin.

  • Social media platforms and hiring departments punishing those who speak up for biological truth or biblical morality.

Even professional platforms like LinkedIn are now flooded with rainbows, pronouns, and Pride campaigns (in company profile pages and in the companies as well) — sometimes pressuring employees to post or participate or risk being labeled intolerant or even disciplined.

This is not inclusion. This is coercion.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
Ephesians 5:11 (NIV)

Woke Culture Demands Not Just Tolerance — But Total Surrender

Woke ideology goes beyond asking for compassion. It demands affirmation. If you refuse to call a biological man a woman, you’re not just disagreed with — you’re penalized. In some companies and universities, this can mean losing your job, your scholarship, or your platform.

And if you’re a Christian, you’re quickly labeled as hateful, bigoted, or backward — simply for believing the Word of God.

You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Matthew 10:22 (NIV)

This Is Spiritual, Not Just Political

This movement is not just about rights. It’s about redefining truth. It’s a modern Tower of Babel, where humanity again tries to exalt itself above God, creating its own definitions of identity, morality, and purpose.

And just like in Genesis 11 — God will judge it.

They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator.
Romans 1:25 (NIV)

Pride — the very sin that caused Lucifer’s fall — is now celebrated as a virtue. But the Bible is clear:

God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.
James 4:6 (NIV)

A Remnant Still Remains

But here’s the good news: God is not done. Just like in the days of Elijah, when it seemed like everyone had bowed to Baal, the Lord reminded His prophet:

Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel — all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal.
1 Kings 19:18 (NIV)

Today, God is raising up a remnant — men and women who will stand for truth even when it costs them. Who will speak with clarity, not compromise. Who will disciple their families, communities, and churches in the full counsel of God, not cultural half-truths.

Peru’s Stand Against the Tide: A Rare Stronghold

While most of the Western world is plunging headlong into moral confusion, Peru is standing as a rare exception — at least for now. In recent months, the Peruvian Congress and government have taken strong action to push back against woke ideology and preserve foundational values rooted in moral order.

Blocking Same-Sex Marriage

Despite years of international pressure, Peru continues to legally define marriage as exclusively between one man and one woman. Attempts to legalize same-sex marriage have been brought forward multiple times in Congress, but have consistently been rejected or shelved. The nation’s civil code and judicial system have upheld the traditional view of marriage — an act of resistance in a world determined to rewrite God’s design.

Defending Biological Reality in Public Restrooms

In a decisive move to protect children and public decency, the government also passed legislation that requires public bathrooms to be used according to biological sex. This law was created to prevent individuals — especially biological males identifying as women — from accessing women’s restrooms and putting women and girls at risk. The measure was framed around protecting the sexual integrity and safety of children and adolescents, and it passed with overwhelming support in Congress.

This is more than a legal issue — it is a moral stand that affirms God’s design of male and female (Genesis 1:27), and it boldly rejects the cultural confusion being exported from other nations.

God is not a God of disorder but of peace.
1 Corinthians 14:33 (NIV)

A Nation That Still Honors Moral Conservative Values in Latin America

While the influence of global agendas continues to spread across Latin America, Peru remains one of the few countries where Christian values still hold public weight. Even if these values are often expressed through traditional or Catholic frameworks, there is a clear and visible resistance to the erasure of truth.

  • Schools and public institutions are still cautious about gender ideology.

  • Abortion remains restricted, defending the life of the unborn and the government has blocked progressive ideologies and laws.

  • Many citizens still uphold faith, family, and biblical morality as central to society.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.
Psalm 33:12 (NIV)

But We Must Not Get Complacent

This is a spiritual window of mercy — not a guaranteed future. The same pressures that overtook other countries are knocking on Peru’s door. NGOs, foreign media, UN-affiliated organizations, and activist groups are working relentlessly to challenge these laws in courts and reshape public opinion.

That’s why we must:

  • Pray fervently for our nations and its leaders to lead Biblically by the word of God.

  • Raise up a generation rooted in biblical truth.

  • Resist cultural lies with love, wisdom, and boldness.

  • Stand united as followers of Christ, regardless of denomination, in defense of truth.

A Note on the U.S. and Leadership Displaying Biblical Truth Again

In the case for Trump and the US recently, I must acknowledge a reality that cannot be ignored: Trump has been one of the few major political figures in the United States who has defended values that align with biblical morality recently now in this second term. From protecting religious freedom for Christians, opposing radical gender ideology, and standing for life in the womb, his platform — at least in part — represents a pushback against the spiritual decline that has overtaken the U.S. previously sadly with other progressive  extreme left governments. In addition to this, the support for Israel as well to defend them strongly like no other country in recent times against the horrible attacks, this has great merit for a leader.

Sometimes, God uses unexpected instruments to hold back greater darkness (see Cyrus in Isaiah 45). While no leader is perfect, when someone defends truth — we must be honest enough to recognize it.

In a world where most leaders are silent, spineless, or sold out to anti-Christian agendas, those who stand for righteousness — even imperfectly — play a critical role in restraining evil. And we, as believers, are called to pray for them, support what is just, and speak the truth — regardless of political party.

What Can We Do?

Here’s how believers should respond:

1. Pray for discernment and boldness

We need the courage of Daniel, the clarity of Paul, and the humility of Christ. This is not the time for passive Christianity.

2. Stand without compromise

Don’t affirm what God condemns. Don’t bow to lies to save face. You may lose favor with man — but you will gain honor before God.

3. Speak the truth in love

Yes, we speak truth — but always with the heart of Christ. The goal is not to shame sinners, but to call them to repentance and new life in Christ.

4. Raise up the next generation

Teach your children biblical identity. Don’t outsource that to the world or even to your school. Your home is the frontline of discipleship.

5. Use your platform for God’s glory

Write. Speak. Record. Evangelize. Don’t be silent. Whether it’s a YouTube channel, a blog, or a one-on-one conversation — your voice matters.

Final Word

We are living in days of deception, but also in days of great opportunity. The darker the world becomes, the brighter the light of Christ shines through those who are faithful.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Romans 12:2 (NIV)

Let the world follow its own truth. But as for us, we will serve the Lord.

As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
Joshua 24:15 (NIV)
