In Memory of Charlie Kirk: A Brother in Christ in a Polarized America

The Ants in the Jar Analogy

Imagine a jar filled with ants. Left alone, the ants crawl around, occasionally bumping into each other, but they coexist. Now imagine someone comes and shakes the jar. Suddenly, the ants go wild, attacking each other as if they are the problem. But here’s the truth: the real problem is not the ants — it’s the one shaking the jar. The question is who is doing the shaking? This analogy is from the author Kurt Vonnegut.

This is exactly what has been happening in the United States for a while now. Americans are fighting each other, convinced that their neighbor is the enemy, while ignoring the bigger reality: the jar has been shaken. Media, political leaders, cultural influencers — all have fueled anger and division. And sadly, both the left and the right have taken the bait.

Sadly because of this, there have been lives lost such as a brother in Christ, a child of God, Charlie Kirk who we mourn as a brother and are deeply saddened by this tremendous horrible acts of violence that occured. He was not the one doing the shaking, on the contrary, he was trying to calm the shaking with dialog as he was gifted in doing.

The Extremes of the Left

On one side, the extreme left pushes ideologies that openly rebel against God’s design.

  • Redefining gender, pushing LGBTQ agendas labeled as “inclusion”, and celebrating sexual immorality are not merely “political” issues; they are direct rejections of God’s created order (Genesis 1:27, Romans 1:26–27).

  • Instead of “live and let live,” the demand is now to celebrate sin. Anyone who dares stand on biblical truth is branded as hateful or bigoted.

  • This confuses children, destroys families, and tears at the foundation of society.

Where I Disagreed

  • Something I have not been a fan of eventhough I am a conservative, is the rhetoric of mass deportations in the U.S, putting immigrants “in cages,” and treating every foreigner as a criminal dehumanizes people made in God’s image. Deporting an 80 year old who was going to ICE to renew his green card then getting that stripped and deported to Guatemala, there’s a lot of stories that are similar.

  • Yes, laws must be upheld, and yes, criminals should face justice, we have taken the criminals, gangs here in Latin America the U.S has also had to deal with from Venezuela yes, no doubt about it. They are all over the region, not just the U.S. However Scripture also commands love and justice toward the stranger (Leviticus 19:34, Matthew 25:35).

  • Nationalism, when exalted above Christ, becomes idolatry. “America First” cannot come before “Christ First.” Unfortunately Aligator Alley with innocent people in cages who are not criminals is not Christ like. I believe that yes governments should be created with God in mind, that’s how the U.S was founded offcourse! But first comes God, serving and living for Jesus Christ, not the other way around.

  • Instead of mercy and justice walking hand in hand, cruelty is often disguised as strength with these harsh anti immigrant acts (with non violent criminals) which I do not agree with the current administration in the U.S.

This is where I did not agree 100% with Charlie Kirk. Me having lived an immigrant story in the U.S which he probably would not have agreed with and my family had to escape persecution and unfortunately things were extremely hard in the U.S that led me to leave voluntarily having been raised there on top of that, so obviously, I did not agree that every illegal should be sent back to their country of origin as he mentioned in one debate.

I felt here he could have improved and put himself in the shoes of the ones in cages (resembled Christ more) who were not criminals, but we are all flawed individuals and sinners and all “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” – (Romans 3:23)

But regardless, this did not make him in no way shape or form at all a racist, Nazi, or Hitler — that was dangerous rhetoric from the left. For the most part, he spoke the truth on other topics as any Christian would, imperfect as we all are.

This is the situation I lived in particularly when I was a kid in the U.S, and the Lord Jesus Christ put me in it for a greater purpose I see now. And if I look at what Jesus said, “I was a stranger and you invited me in” (Matthew 25:35), I cannot in good conscience say to the millions of Venezuelans facing extreme poverty and crime in Venezuela to leave and get killed.

At the same time, Scripture also reminds us: “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established” (Romans 13:1–2).

And even from the beginning, God’s justice was clear: “The same law applies both to the native-born and to the foreigner residing among you” (Exodus 12:49).

So yes, 100% definitely the gangs and criminals must be dealt with — as any citizen of any country would demand. But for families, children, and the vulnerable, the heart of Christ compels us to respond with compassion, while still upholding the laws and order God commands. This is where I strongly disagreed with the Republican party.

The Dangerous Power of Labels

However, the extreme left in the U.S has made things worse by constantly branding conservatives as “fascists,” “Nazis,” or calling Trump “Hitler.” As Christian commentator Ruslan once noted: “If Hitler were alive today, wouldn’t people feel justified in offing him?” When you compare political opponents to Nazis, you plant in people’s minds the justification for violence.

This rhetoric is gasoline on the fire. It dehumanizes entire groups of people, making violence seem “necessary.” This is something that the extreme left is very guilty of and as a result we are seeing the horrible consequences now of what happened to Charlie Kirk. This is jar shaking.

The Trump Factor: Opportunism, Not Discipleship

Donald Trump has been at the center of this storm. To his credit, he passed policies that helped Christians, particularly in his second term — pro-life measures, removing men from womens sports with extreme gender ideologies, protections for religious freedom. I thought that was great.

But let’s be honest: in my personal opinion, I do not think he is not a genuine follower of Christ, that’s just by dicernment as a Christian when you see something that is not right and those fruits are not what resemble a Christian.

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. – Matthew 7:15-16

  • His spiritual advisor Paula White is tied to the false prosperity gospel, a red flag that his faith platform was about votes, not discipleship.

  • The “God Bless America Bible” was a marketing stunt, using God’s name for profit.

  • His reaction to Charlie Kirk’s death exposed more of the same. Instead of pointing people to prayer, unity, or Christ (especially to practice what Christ would do as he proclaims to be a Christian), he immediately did the finger pointing again as usual and blaming the left (regardless that there is definit proof now the person responsible looks like they were radicalized by left exrtreme ideologies very fast in college) and justified the radical right’s behavior if they are to react or take vengeance. This is not Christ like at all.

That is not leadership rooted in truth — it’s opportunism and iresponsible leadership, at this stage, why?? You do not return evil with evil regardless, we are Christians and need to resemble Christ. This is what the U.S needs now to stop the constant blood baths from both sides!

This is the contrast of Donald Trump and JD Vance’s attitudes right now (regardless if they were close to him) we need to resemble Christ as Christians:

    Matthew 5:44:
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”

    Romans 12:20-21:
“Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Ask yourselves, is Donald Trump really the man to bring peace based on these fruits he shows? Isn’t that what we all want?

The Death of Charlie Kirk: A Horrible, Sad, Painful Tragic Symptom

Charlie Kirk’s recent death cut deeply. As Christians, we grieve because he was a brother in Christ, a child of God and Christians worldwide are absolutely destroyed and horribly saddened by the events that occured in the tragic assasination against his life.

Even if we did not agree with 100% of his political views (I would say 95% I agreed), he was part of the Body. Scripture says: “If one member suffers, all suffer together.” (1 Corinthians 12:26).

But his death also reveals the sickness in the American political culture.

  • The shooter came from a conservative, gun-loving republican, all American white Mormon family. Not illegal criminal immigrant as Trump has focused on that this the root of the crime in the U.S which is not true entirely 100% based on these massive shootings.

** These Shootings are one of the core problems and not doing anything about it for years. Yes Donald Trump do something about it with the flick of a pen, like the many executive orders signed in the first 100 days of his presidency. Ask yourselves, why can’t he sign on that? **

  • The problem wasn’t simply “the left” however I do believe now that the assasin was radicalized very shortly after attending the university) The deeper problem is hatred in the heart, fueled by division from both sides and made deadly by easy access to guns in the U.S which unfortunately is a big problem and Trump has failed to act on this even after his own attempt, twice sadly.

Was Charlie Kirk a “Jar Shaker”?

Some might ask: wasn’t Charlie himself one of the jar shakers? After all, he was bold, outspoken, and controversial figure and many disagreed with his points of views. But the answer in my opinion is definetely NO.

There is a difference between shaking the jar (provoking chaos for gain) and speaking hard truth (which may disturb but seeks clarity) with dialog and debate, free speech as the U.S is based on it’s principles as a free country and I learned and was educated into this system in the U.S as a kid having been raised there.  As Frank Turek mentioned, “Fascists don’t give the microphone to their opponents, they kill their opponents”.

The U.S right now in my opinion is going towards a dark path and Charlie Kirk recognized it, spoke up about it very elegantly, intelectually, expressed it in places where darkness, disobedience, anti biblical. anti pro life, anti pro family, anti pro Christian and attacks on the youth is being installed (universities), and many did not like that Charlie Kirk was right and was gaining a lot of support, so he was killed for this. This is my personal opinion as a Christian and being “as sharp as the serpent and gentle as the dove” – Matthew 10:16  which is what Charlie Kirk always practiced.

Jar shakers however are opportunists — media outlets, politicians, and influencers who profit from stirring anger. CNN, MSNBC, CBS, FOX News, etc.. all the polarized channels that make a profit from dividing and polarizing.

Charlie, however, invited debate, not destruction. He spoke hard truths, yes, but with dialogue, intellect, and respect. Most importantly, he proclaimed the Gospel and thanks to him now, we have many more people following Christ and picking up there bibles, like him or not.

He had the guts to get into the eye of the storm in universities where the enemy is running wild, and he went only to talk and dialog, not fight, and he listened regardless who attacked him, booed him. This is NOT a dictator, NOT a natzi, NOT a fascist.  this is what Jesus dId. He sat down with sinners but rebuked them at the same time and told them they were wrong.

Matthew 9:10-17:
10 “While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’[a] For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

I believe also Charlie resembled Paul the Apostle, who entered hostile spaces with the gospel and provoked riots not by manipulation, but by truth that cut to the heart (Acts 19). Like Paul and like Jesus Himself, Charlie disturbed people with truth, but he did not incite violence.

That is what made him different:

  • He dialogued without fighting.

  • He debated without demeaning.

  • He listened even to opponents.

This is what many admired about him — not that he was perfect, but that he was a thinker, a communicator, and above all, a brother in Christ.

I believe now Charlie Kirk did a lot of the “overturning of tables” similar to what Jesus Christ did for rebuking the pharises and as a result similar to Jesus because they did not like what he had to say and exposed them and they spoke the truth, they were killed for that “overturning”.

12 “Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’[a] but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.” (Matthew 21:12-13)

So no, Charlie Kirk was not a Jar Shaker, he was a table overturner like Jesus.

27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. 29 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30 And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ 31 So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started! 33 “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? – (Matthew 23:27-33)

See the similarities and why this happened to Charlie Kirk? As Christians we cannot be luke warm about this. It is obvious.

The U.S Polarization/Extremes – It’s a Heart Issue

Ken Ham once saidIf it’s easy for a society to kill a baby in the womb, then it becomes easy to kill anyone you disagree with. That’s the issue: the heart.

  • A society that casually discards unborn life will eventually discard other lives too.. the elderly, the weak, the inconvenient, or the political opponent.

  • Jesus said, “Out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.” (Matthew 15:19).

  • Before someone pulls a trigger, the murder has already been conceived in the heart.

This is why abortion, violence, and polarization are all connected. They are symptoms of the same disease: a sinful, deceived heart apart from God.

The Deadly Recipe in the United States Today

Put it all together:

  1. Polarization — each side dehumanizes the other ( the jar shakers, NOT CHARLIEwho spoke the truth but with love and respect)

  2. Easy gun access — anger quickly turns to bloodshed. Unfortunately after so much gun violence, still no solution and there is a very clear reason why and it has to do with the NRA and alot of $$. How is it possible that only in the U.S you can go into a typical store and buy a gun like if it’s shopping for food or whatever, this is insane and danger. As mentioned previously, a flick of the pen from Trump as he did on the first 100 days for universal, tough, gun reform. Why has this not happened still to this day???

  3. Leaders who exploit division — media, politicians, NRA, Democrats, Republicans, Journalists, Influencers, even some pastors profit from outrage instead of preaching peace. Trump, the Democratic Party, cannot simply call it a truce and come together. Still the pot needs to keep stiring, the jar needs to keep shaking with finger pointers.

How did Abraham Lincoln end the civil war? He ended slavery with the emancipation proclamation and tried to unite a divided country. Why can’t politicians do that in the U.S? The enemy is working here people. This is deep spiritual warfare in the U.S and the enemy is really enjoying it. Finger pointing and blaming is solving nothing. Scripture says it clearly

    Matthew 7:3-5:
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

That is the recipe for disaster that both sides need to stop doing. America is eating it daily.

More Biblical Answers and Perspectives

Laws can help (tough universal gun reform in the U.S), policies can matter, but at the same time also more importantely, they cannot fix the heart. Only Christ can.

  • “I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you.” (Ezekiel 36:26).

  • “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9).

  • “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.” (Mark 3:24).

Until America repents and returns to Jesus, the shaking of the jar will continue — and the ants will keep destroying each other and sadly, more lives will be lost.

Look Beyond the Jar

Charlie Kirk’s death is not just a political tragedy; it is a spiritual alarm bell. The real enemy is not the left or the right in the U.S, not immigrants or conservatives, it is sin, hatred, and the devil who delights in division. The enemy loves division. “The thief comes to rob, kill and destroy.” John 10:10

The only one who wins with this division is the enemy. This is spiritual warfare.

12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” – Ephesians 6:12

In remembering Charlie a brother in Christ who believed 100%  in the living for Jesus Christ as a Christian flawed man as we all are (the only perfect human was Jesus Christ), we painfully are mourning today as Christians. We must not confuse his boldness with the opportunists who stir chaos who still to this day keep doing it sadly and painfully, giving the enemy a foothold.

Charlie Kirk was not a jar shaker. He was a debater, a thinker, a Christian brother, and family man who used his words instead of weapons, who sought dialogue instead of destruction. I did not agree with him 100% on some things like immigration, but who really can vouch for you and say that they totally agree 100% with everything you say? It’s dialog. The bible teaches us to eat the meat and spit out the bones. He had very little bones to spit out in my opinion.

The jar has been shaken, not by him. The question is: will people in the U.S keep attacking each other, or will they turn to Christ, the only one who can calm the storm and give us new hearts.  It pains me now more than ever to see this happening in the country I grew up in and was raised for 23 years. The U.S was not like this back in the 90’s, it was boring politics and it needs to go back to that ASAP.

Remembering Charlie Kirk

In closing we need Jesus, the world needs Jesus Christ. The U.S needs to stop with the polarization. We need to love our enemies. We need Love, not hate. Come to Christ, live for and through Jesus Christ as Charlie Kirk did as the strong Christian man he was. He would not want revenge. He once said.. “Always forgive your enemies, nothing annoys them so much”.. in his human flawed way as all of us.

As Christ also forgave his enemies on the cross even more so. Charlie Kirk eventually would have become president of the U.S and I think many knew this and did not like it and he knew this also, and eventually why he was martyred. This man was a warrior regardless you believe in his politics or not, he was a Christian who was not afraid to speak the truth and we need more like him today.

Received and Welcomed By Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
Charlie Kirk did not feel any pain, he was welcomed by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
He did the work of an evangelist, like Christ and Paul the apostle. He will never be silenced for “preaching the word” as the Lord said and has commanded all of us to do in this temporary world and how he elegantly did so:

2 Timothy 4 1-3:
“preach the word, be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.”

He understood this and that’s why he went into the battlefields into colleges where the youth are polluted with anti Christ ideologies to dialog and bring souls to Christ.

I am sure that when the Lord Jesus Christ took him into his arms on that day Sept. 10, he said these words to him on Matthew 25:23: “Well done, good and faithful servant”.

We know for us to “live is Christ to die is gain” – Phillipians 1:21 and “separation from the body is to be with the Lord”  – 2 Corinthians 5:8 and that’s where he is now with our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ in the eternity forever.

May the Lord watch over his family and bring them peace, Amen.
